 Employee Relations Specialist

Our client, a premier international investment banking firm is looking for an Our client, a premier international investment banking firm is looking for an experienced EMPLOYEE RELATIONS Specialist, AVP.  
Responsibilities:
  • Consult on firm's employment practices and procedures as they pertain to employment related laws and regulations, leaves of absences, benefits, and employment policies. 
  • Research, review and provide support for legal cases.
  • Coordinate the involvement of representatives from the EAP, Medical, Legal, Compliance and/or Security to support the businesses in resolving issues such as allegations of inappropriate behavior, bonding and compliance issues, and medical emergencies.
  • Ensure firm meets training requirements as prescribed by local law and/or firm-wide objectives.
  • Develop policies that reinforce firm's employee relations philosophy and ensure compliance with federal, state and local legislation.
Main Duties:
  • Manage one other employee relations team member to together serve as trusted advisors to the Client Relationship Teams and provide guidance and counseling on HR policies and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with the regions to deliver global strategy plans and to ensure issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively with due regard to risk.
  • Advise Client Relationship Teams on how best to coach managers and employees regarding complex employee issues.
  • Work with the Client Relationship Teams in negotiating complex release agreements and exit strategies for involuntary terminations.

 
Requirements:
 
Bachelors degree; advanced degree preferred. 5-7 years managing employee relations issues in Financial Services. Ability to manage volume, execute flawlessly, and understand HR processes. Strong interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). A confident and motivated self-starter. Strong team player and well organized. Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, rules, and procedures is required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
